Job summary

Catholic Healthcare is hiring casual in‑home care workers to travel around Bathurst, Lithgow and surrounding areas. Hourly pay has increased to 34.50–48.75 AUD per hour plus superannuation and km reimbursement.

Flexible Monday–Friday hours, not-for-profit employer and the chance to help older Australians live independently at home. Ideal candidates are passionate, reliable and able to work with a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Experience in home care settings or willingness to learn in‑home support routines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and families.
• Reliable team player with understanding of safety in the community care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with day‑to‑day in‑home tasks including cleaning and tidying.
• Provide transport to appointments and accompany clients as needed.
• Support meal preparation and personal care within the care plan.

We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to make a difference in our clients' lives by assisting them to live at home independently for as long as possible. You will be travelling around Bathurst and surrounding suburbs in a varied and rewarding role – no two days will be the same!!

Day To Day Role Looks Like

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in‑home tasks – cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Need

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australians in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• Good communication skills
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safety
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
