Job summary

Baja Cantina in Sydney is seeking a motivated Supervisor/ Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead the floor and help grow the team, delivering lively Cali-style hospitality.

This full-time role offers opportunities to train staff, optimise service flow and contribute to guest experiences across multiple venues including a new Circular Quay location.

Ideal candidates are experienced, hands-on and ready to take the next step in their hospitality career within a supportive group.

Qualifications

• Experience as restaurant supervisor or assistant manager, or senior team member ready to advance.
• Punctual, reliable and well organised.
• Confident in managing and developing a team.
• Hands-on in busy, high-volume restaurant.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for hospitality and guest welcome.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.
• Basic wine and beverage knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and ensure every service runs smoothly.
• Train staff in service standards, menu knowledge and customer care.
• Assist with rostering, shift planning and opening/closing procedures.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely, consistent service.
• Maintain high standards of service, presentation, and guest experience.
• Manage staff performance and foster positive team culture.
• Lead by example and take an active role in the restaurant.

Baja Cantina is a Cali-style Mexican restaurant bringing vibrant flavours and relaxed, welcoming hospitality to Sydney. With three established locations and a new restaurant opening in Circular Quay, we’re looking for a motivated Supervisor/ Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our growing team.

The role
