Job summary

Freo Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead daily site operations across mining, oil & gas, infrastructure and renewables sectors in Australia. You will coordinate labour, plant, rigging and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality lifting activities while observing HSEQ requirements.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in crane hire/mining/heavy industry.
• Intermediate RI High Risk Work Licence, with additional licences/competencies desirable.
• WA Section 26 supervisory qualifications or Queensland Coal Mining Supervisor competencies where required.
• Proven experience supervising operational teams, contractors and subcontractors on demanding sites.
• Strong lifting operations, plant, rigging and site requirement knowledge.
• Solid knowledge of HSEQ legislation, risk management and compliance.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily site operations delivering safety, efficiency and high quality outcomes.
• Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, rigging and subcontractor needs to meet objectives.
• Champion safety culture with pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and inspections.
• Ensure lifting activities and works comply with legislation and client specs.
• Provide coaching and direction to employees and contractors for high performance.
• Oversee planning, mobilisation/demobilisation for seamless delivery.
• Monitor performance, identify risks and implement solutions to maintain productivity.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain equipment integrity and site records, including safety docs.
• Drive continuous improvement for safety, productivity and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience within the crane hire, construction, mining, maintenance or heavy industry sectors.
• Minimum Intermediate Rigging (RI) High Risk Work Licence, with additional relevant licences and competencies highly regarded.
• Relevant statutory supervisory qualifications applicable to the location, including Section 26 (WA) or recognised Queensland Coal Mining Supervisor competencies, where required.
• Proven experience supervising operational teams, contractors and subcontractors in demanding site‑based environments.
• Strong technical understanding of lifting operations, plant, equipment, rigging and associated site requirements.
• Sound knowledge of HSEQ legislation, risk management, safe work practices and operational compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and deliver work activities safely, efficiently and within operational timeframes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, manage performance and build a positive safety culture.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and decision‑making skills, with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
• Commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes, continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and supervise daily site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, rigging, tooling and subcontractor requirements to achieve operational objectives.
• Champion a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, pre‑start meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and site inspections.
• Ensure all lifting activities and operational works comply with relevant legislation, company procedures, client specifications and HSEQ requirements.
• Provide clear direction, coaching and support to employees, contractors and subcontractors to build a capable, accountable and high‑performing team.
• Oversee work planning, scheduling, mobilisation and demobilisation activities to support seamless operational delivery.
• Monitor site performance, identify operational risks and implement practical solutions to maintain productivity and service quality.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, operational leaders and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure plant, equipment and rigging are maintained, inspected and operated in accordance with applicable standards and requirements.
• Maintain accurate site records, safety documentation and operational reporting, ensuring incidents and hazards are appropriately managed.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
