Job summary

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of current studio-based activities in a design school.
• Strong communication to deliver instructional support to students and staff.
• Willingness to deliver innovative and flexible solutions to staff and students.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and organise workload to ensure timely completion.
• Knowledge of OH&S legislation and safe working practices in studio environments.
• IT skills and knowledge of learning technologies, printing systems and related software.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team and respond to changing school needs.
• Customer service ethic and commitment to high service outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support student enquiry hot desk as assigned by rosters.
• Provide ad-hoc assistance to School events and student committees.
• Provide instruction to students and staff in relation to studio-based technologies.
• Provide peer-to-peer mentoring to students and assist with Learning and Teaching functions.
• Assist with preparation of studios and equipment to ensure learning outcomes.
• Provide first-level support to staff using learning technologies in studio spaces; monitor status and report issues; escalate as needed.
• Monitor studio environments to ensure equipment is set up, safe and clean; report issues to Facilities.
• Participate in Health and Safety training and promote OH&S requirements.
• Provide general administration support to School operations.
• Collaborate with Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) to deliver high-level outcomes.
