Job summary

University of Melbourne is seeking a Student Operations Coordinator to oversee operations across FEIT workshops and makerspaces, streamlining rostering, inductions, and documentation for a safe and inclusive student experience.

You will coordinate day‑to‑day activities, share priorities with the operations team and maintain SOPs and reports to support continuous improvement. This role sits within FEIT's Infrastructure Team and focuses on hands‑on student spaces and projects.

Qualifications

• Experience working in customer service environments delivering reliable, high‑quality support to diverse users.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination and information sharing.
• Growth mindset, contributing practical ideas to improve processes, documentation and student service experiences.
• Ability to follow procedures in operational settings, escalating issues and risks appropriately when needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities and rosters for Student Operations Officers to ensure consistent coverage and service.
• Act as the operational link, sharing priorities, policy updates, incidents and training needs across the operations team.
• Maintain and improve shift documentation, SOPs and operational reports, capturing service metrics to support continuous improvement.
• Support scheduling and administration of inductions, workshops and training, including attendance and competency records.
• Assist with club and event liaison, coordinating makerspace access and supervision for student projects and activities.
