Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Student Operations Coordinator to oversee student operations across FEIT workshops and makerspaces. You will streamline rostering, inductions and documentation to deliver safe, reliable and inclusive spaces for FEIT students.

You will coordinate day-to-day activities and rosters for Student Operations Officers, act as the operational link within the team, and maintain shift documentation and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering reliable, high-quality customer service to diverse users.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination.

What you will deliver

• Coordinate day-to-day activities and rosters for Student Operations Officers to ensure consistent coverage and service.
• Act as the operational link, sharing priorities, policy updates, incidents and training needs across the operations team.
• Maintain and improve shift documentation, SOPs and operational reports, capturing service metrics to support continuous improvement.
• Support scheduling and administration of inductions, workshops and training, including attendance and competency records.
• Assist with club and event liaison, coordinating makerspace access and supervision for student projects and activities.

You will join the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology's Infrastructure Team, supporting cutting-edge teaching and research spaces. The Workshop, Makerspaces and Engagement Team enables safe, hands-on learning through well‑managed workshops, makerspaces and informal student areas. You will collaborate with technical, operational and student-facing colleagues, contributing to consistently excellent user experiences across FEIT.
