Job summary

Mercure Perth, located in the heart of the Perth CBD, seeks a strategic Business Development Manager to lead our commercial strategy across MICE and Group sectors. You will aggressively hunt for new opportunities, secure key corporate and MICE contracts, and maximise revenue across event venues and accommodation inventory.

In this full-time role, you will work closely with the Director of Sales to grow market share, develop long-term client relationships, and drive pipeline activity through

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a BDM or senior sales role within hospitality, with MICE and Groups experience.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing capabilities with self-driven revenue targets.
• Excellent knowledge of Perth CBD corporate and conference landscape and networks.
• Outstanding interpersonal, pitch and presentation skills tailored to corporate bookers and event decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Proactively target, source, and secure high-value meetings, conferences, and corporate events for Mercure Perth.
• Convert group leads and expand high-yield accounts in line with sales strategy.
• Conduct sales calls, networking, client presentations, and site visits to build a robust pipeline.
• Draft proposals, negotiate terms, and secure long-term agreements to maximize GOP and revenue.
• Collaborate with Director of Sales and Revenue Manager to optimize yield and CRM activity.
