Job summary

Mercure Perth is seeking a Part-time Conference & Event Supervisor to lead our events team and deliver outstanding service for corporate and private functions. You will supervise banquet, conference and meeting room events, coordinate with Sales and Kitchen, and ensure compliance with food safety and health standards.

You will also lead staff development, manage inventory and costs, and create innovative packages to enhance our event offerings while maintaining high standards of guest

Qualifications

• RSA certification is required, Approved Manager Card is desirable.
• Leadership experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Flexibility to work afternoon shifts and weekends.
• Service-focused with a passion for food and beverage.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the execution of banquet, conference, and meeting room events, ensuring timelines and setups align with guest orders.
• Liaise with Conference & Events Sales team for seamless handovers and flawless execution of functions.
• Oversee daily conference and events operations, maintaining high-quality service.
• Lead and develop a team of events and catering staff to achieve operational excellence.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain menu quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
• Manage inventory, place orders, and control costs while upholding product quality for events.
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and event modifications professionally.
• Assist in creating innovative conference packages, event promotions, and catering offerings.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor and analyse sales data and event performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct regular staff training sessions to enhance service skills and event execution capabilities.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment for staff and guests.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and integrated event delivery.
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate contemporary offerings into event packages and menus.
