Job summary

UNSW is seeking a seasoned Health & Safety Manager, Projects to lead the Health & Safety Program of Work across the University, delivering multi-workstream improvements in governance, risk, wellbeing and operations.

Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety Performance & Improvement and managing one direct report, you will engage with stakeholders across Estates, Contractors and Health & Wellbeing to embed project outcomes into practice and drive sustainable safety performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading complex programs and projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or PM certification.
• Experience delivering large-scale programs with governance, planning, delivery and change management.
• Strong knowledge of PM methodologies and tools, including risk management.
• Exceptional relationship builder with senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Innovative, strategic thinker with continuous-improvement mindset.
• Strong data analytics capabilities with reporting dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance, planning and delivery of the Health & Safety Program of Work across the University.
• Drive delivery of transformational health & safety projects and initiatives across multiple workstreams.
• Establish and oversee governance, reporting frameworks, schedules and KPIs.
• Partner with Health & Safety, Estates, Contractors and Health & Wellbeing to embed project outcomes.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies with escalation pathways.
• Build relationships with senior sponsors and stakeholders for engagement and alignment.
• Coach and develop team members and contribute to strategic planning and capability development.
