Job summary

Publicroles seeks an experienced governance and risk professional to lead enterprise risk governance within a NSW government context. You’ll strengthen governance, build organisational resilience and support informed decision‑making across a complex operational environment.

Working with senior executives, you will develop risk and governance frameworks, oversee business continuity and drive improvements across the agency while guiding a multidisciplinary team to deliver measurable public service

Qualifications

• An experienced governance and risk professional with a strong understanding of public sector governance frameworks, legislative and regulatory requirements, policies and delegations.
• Proven ability to develop and improve enterprise risk frameworks, identify emerging risks and provide practical, evidence-based advice to senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction – lead the development and continuous improvement of enterprise risk, governance and resilience frameworks, ensuring they remain effective and responsive to emerging challenges.
• Provide strategic insight – deliver clear, evidence-based risk advice and reporting to support executive decision-making and oversight by the CSNSW Audit and Risk Committee.
• Strengthen organisational resilience – oversee business continuity planning, preparedness, testing and post-incident reviews to help the agency anticipate and respond to disruption.
• Drive effective governance – oversee governance committee operations, assurance activities and compliance reporting to support transparency and meet agency obligations.
• Build capability and influence change – work across CSNSW to strengthen risk awareness, share knowledge and embed effective practices into everyday operations.
• Lead a high‑performing team – develop people, encourage collaboration and drive continuous improvement across enterprise risk and governance functions.
