Job summary

Tappeti, established in Sydney, seeks a seasoned Business Development professional to own and grow the Sydney and NSW markets for bespoke handcrafted rugs across commercial and high-end residential sectors.

You will cultivate relationships with architects, interior designers, developers and builders, manage a forward pipeline, and navigate tender, procurement and negotiations to secure orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum proven BDM in architectural products or design-led spec role.
• Experience with commercial and high-end residential projects.
• Ability to discuss colour, material and creative intent with designers and negotiate commercially.

Responsibilities

• Own and achieve sales budget and develop a strong forward pipeline.
• Build and strengthen relationships with architects, interior designers and design practices.
• Identify commercial and residential projects early in the specification cycle.
• Strategically manage opportunities from introduction through to order.
• Understand stakeholders, commercial pressures and decision-making for major projects.
• Negotiate to protect margins and avoid unnecessary discounts.
• Develop value-engineered solutions to secure projects.
• Re-engage dormant clients and open new revenue accounts.
• Maintain a clear 30/60/90-day sales forecast and pipeline.
