Job summary

Chubb Insurance is seeking an experienced underwriter in Brisbane to contribute to profitability through strong portfolio management, broker collaboration and rigorous risk assessment. You will target new business, retention and growth while adhering to underwriting standards and internal controls.

You will lead account planning, engage with brokers and clients, and help manage renewals, endorsements and pricing decisions. A proactive mentor role for junior underwriters is also expected.

Qualifications

• Strong underwriting judgement and commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of pricing, alternative risk transfer, reserving and key account management.
• Ability to tailor coverage and build trusted relationships with brokers and clients.

Job description

The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the achievement of department, branch, and corporate goals relative to profit, growth, service producer and client relations.

Key responsibilities

Achieve new business, rate and retention targets for the assigned portfolio, using portfolio analysis and strong account planning to support profit and growth

Work closely with NUC and internal stakeholders to maintain a consistent broker approach, monitor open claims and prepare thoroughly for account reviews

Follow underwriting, compliance and documentation standards, and assess new business, renewals and endorsements within authority

Make recommendations on risks outside authority, support account trade-off decisions and contribute to profit, premium and market analysis

Meet producer targets, develop new business opportunities and manage the sales pipeline

Build strong broker and key account relationships through regular communication, visits and collaboration to retain and grow business

About you
