Job summary

HMPS Propac is seeking a Stores Coordinator in Adelaide to manage day-to-day store operations and the Vertical Storage System (VSS). You will ensure accurate receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch to support production, spare parts and customer orders.

You will coordinate freight, inventory counts, and collaborate with production, procurement and planning to resolve shortages. A forklift licence and legal right to work in Australia are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in stores, warehouse or inventory role within manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience maintaining stock accuracy with an ERP/inventory system.
  • Cycle counting and stocktake processes experience.
  • Ability to coordinate stores flow and guide others.
  • Strong attention to detail with part numbers and stock records.
  • Proficient computer skills with ERP/inventory systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to make sound day-to-day decisions and escalate issues when needed.
  • Current forklift licence (LF).
  • Current driver’s licence and right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operation of the Propac store including receipting, put-away, kitting, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Prioritise daily stores activities and provide guidance and on-the-job training.
  • Operate and maintain the Vertical Storage System, including layouts and data.
  • Maintain inventory records and perform cycle counts and stocktakes.
  • Monitor stock levels and storage capacity; recommend improvements.
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods; manage discrepancies and returns.
  • Book and coordinate freight and courier services.
  • Prepare dispatch documentation including interstate, export and dangerous goods where required.
  • Collaborate with production, spare parts, procurement and planning to resolve shortages.
  • Identify and implement improvements to store layout and processes.
  • Maintain SOPs and operating standards for store/Vertical Storage System.
  • Maintain a safe, clean store environment.

Job description

Introduction

HMPS Propac is looking for a Stores Coordinator to join our Adelaide team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Propac store and Vertical Storage System (VSS). You will play an important role in making sure parts and materials are received, stored, picked, kitted and dispatched accurately and on time to support production, spare parts and customer orders. Working closely with the Machining and Stores Manager, you will coordinate the daily flow of stores activities, maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate freight and supplier follow-up, and help ensure the store operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Storeperson, Stores Coordinator or Warehouse professional who enjoys being hands-on while also taking ownership of inventory, systems and processes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Propac store, including receipting, put-away, kitting, picking, packing and dispatch
  • Prioritise daily stores activities and provide functional guidance and on-the-job training to others working in the store
  • Operate and maintain the Vertical Storage System, including tray layouts, location logic, system data and operator maintenance
  • Ensure inventory records are accurate and conduct cycle counts, stocktakes and variance investigations
  • Monitor stock levels, slow-moving stock and storage capacity, and recommend improvements where required
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods, manage discrepancies and coordinate returns and warranty claims
  • Book and coordinate freight and courier services for inbound and outbound goods
  • Prepare dispatch documentation, including interstate, export and dangerous goods documentation where required
  • Work closely with production, spare parts, procurement and planning teams to resolve shortages and expedite critical items
  • Identify and implement improvements to store layout, storage methods, systems and processes
  • Maintain accurate work instructions, SOPs and operating standards for the store and Vertical Storage System
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised store environment
What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is organised, practical and takes ownership of getting things done. You’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience maintaining stock accuracy and working with an ERP or inventory management system
  • Experience with cycle counting and stocktake processesExperience coordinating the flow of stores work and providing guidance or training to others
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with part numbers, stock records and engineering components
  • Sound computer skills, including experience with ERP/inventory systems and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to make sound day-to-day decisions and elevate issues when required
  • A current forklift licence (LF)
  • A current driver’s licence and the right to work in Australia

Experience with a Vertical Lift Module, carousel or similar automated storage system would be highly regarded, as would experience working with machined components, engineering drawings, freight coordination or continuous improvement/5S.
