Job summary

Randstad - Inhouse Services, in partnership with ALPA, seeks a Store Manager Couple to run a remote Arnhem Land supermarket and mentor local staff. You will lead operations, finances, and community engagement in a challenging but rewarding setting.

Working in remote Australia, you will implement ALPA's nutrition policy, drive stock accuracy, scheduling, and customer service while fostering community development and cultural awareness. This role offers unique impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in retail management.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Proficient with electronic retail systems including POS, stock control, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and financial performance of ALPA supermarkets in remote settings.
• Coach and mentor local team members to build community capacity.
• Promote healthier food choices as part of ALPA's nutrition policy.
• Collaborate with merchandising and nutrition teams to maintain stock and service standards.
• Engage with community leaders to meet local needs and ensure smooth store operations.
• Maintain stock control and scheduling for a high-volume remote store.

About your next role

As a Store Manager Couple, you will be the heart of the community, responsible for the successful operation of a remote supermarket while mentoring local talent.

• Oversee the daily operations and financial performance of ALPA supermarkets in remote settings
• Coach, mentor, and support local team members to build community capacity
• Bring ALPA's nutrition policy to life by actively promoting healthier food choices to members
• Work closely with merchandising and nutrition teams to ensure high standards of stock and service

• Maintain a smooth-running retail environment through effective stock control and scheduling

What we look for

• You are a resilient, culturally aware leadership duo with a background in high-volume retail and a passion for people development.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in retail management is desirable
• Strong technical knowledge of electronic retail systems, including POS, stock control, and staff scheduling
• Certificate III in Retail, or a genuine willingness to complete this qualification within your first 12 months
• High level of adaptability and the ability to thrive in remote or regional settings
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to cultural awareness
• Proven ability to manage a diverse team and drive positive community outcomes
