Job summary

Randstad partners with ALPA to recruit a Store Manager Couple for remote supermarket operations in Australia’s Outback. You will lead a high‑volume retail site, mentor local staff, and drive community health initiatives while ensuring stock integrity and service excellence.

You and your partner bring leadership at scale, a willingness to complete required qualifications, and the adaptability to thrive in a remote regional setting, delivering a meaningful social impact.

Qualifications

• Background in high-volume retail leadership.
• 2+ years' experience in retail management.
• Willing to complete Certificate III in Retail within 12 months.
• Strong adaptability for remote/regional settings.
• Good interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and financial performance of ALPA supermarkets in remote settings.
• Coach, mentor, and support local team members to build community capacity.
• Promote ALPA nutrition policy to encourage healthier food choices.
• Coordinate with merchandising and nutrition teams to ensure stock and service standards.
• Engage with community leaders to meet local needs.
• Maintain smooth store operations through stock control and scheduling.

About your next role

As a Store Manager Couple, you will be the heart of the community, responsible for the successful operation of a remote supermarket while mentoring local talent.

• Oversee the daily operations and financial performance of ALPA supermarkets in remote settings

• Work closely with merchandising and nutrition teams to ensure high standards of stock and service


• Engage with community leaders to ensure the store meets the unique needs of the local area


• Maintain a smooth-running retail environment through effective stock control and scheduling

What we look for

• You are a resilient, culturally aware leadership duo with a background in high-volume retail and a passion for people development.


• Minimum of 2 years' experience in retail management is desirable


• Strong technical knowledge of electronic retail systems, including POS, stock control, and staff scheduling


• Certificate III in Retail, or a genuine willingness to complete this qualification within your first 12 months


• High level of adaptability and the ability to thrive in remote or regional settings


• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to cultural awareness


• Proven ability to manage a diverse team and drive positive community outcomes
