Job summary

Randstad partners with ALPA to recruit dedicated retail couples for a life-changing opportunity in remote Arnhem Land, NT. You will lead store operations, oversee safety, and help deliver essential services to First Nations communities, with zero rent and fully covered utilities enabling strong savings.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will manage rosters, restock shelves, handle cash reconciliation, coach staff, support cafe operations, and participate in audits, with a 6–12 month

Qualifications

• 2+ years in retail or fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic retail systems for POS, stock control, and staff management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to cultural awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in day-to-day operations and rosters.
• Unload pallets, restock shelves, and perform manual handling.
• Manage end-of-day cash reconciliation and store closing procedures.
• Coach local staff to promote routine and meaningful employment.
• Support café or takeaway operations while maintaining food safety standards.
• Participate in stocktakes, safety audits, and compliance checks.
• Commit to a 6–12 month development pathway toward Store Management.

About your next role

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the store to ensure community needs for nutrition, safety, and essential goods are met.

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and follow a fortnightly roster including weekends and evenings
• Take responsibility for physical tasks including unloading pallets, restocking shelves, and manual handling
• Manage store closing procedures and the reconciliation of end-of-day cash
• Provide coaching and training to local store staff to encourage routine and meaningful employment
• Support café or takeaway operations while maintaining strict food safety standards
• Participate in stocktakes, safety audits, and compliance checks to ensure long-term viability
• Commit to a 6-12 month development pathway to grow into a Store Management role

What you will need to bring

• You will be a resilient leader with a hands-on approach and a deep respect for cultural diversity.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail or a similar fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in using electronic retail systems for point of sale, stock control, and staff management
• High level of adaptability and the ability to thrive in remote or regional settings
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to cultural awareness
• Proven ability to manage a diverse team and drive positive community outcomes
