Job summary

Randstad Pty, in partnership with ALPA, invites dedicated retail couples to relocate to remote Outback communities in Arnhem Land, NT, to lead daily store operations and support nutrition, safety, and essential goods. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will manage rosters, unload pallets, restock shelves, close cash, and coach local staff, with a 6–12 month pathway to Store Management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in retail or similar fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on leadership with a focus on operational robustness.
• Ability to work in remote or regional settings and manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in day-to-day operations and fortnightly rosters.
• Unload pallets, restock shelves, and handle manual tasks.
• Manage closing procedures and end-of-day cash reconciliation.
• Coach and train local staff to promote routine and meaningful employment.
• Support café or takeaway operations while maintaining food safety standards.
• Participate in stocktakes, safety audits and compliance checks.
• Pursue a 6-12 month development pathway to grow into Store Management.

About your next role

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the store to ensure community needs for nutrition, safety, and essential goods are met.

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and follow a fortnightly roster including weekends and evenings
• Take responsibility for physical tasks including unloading pallets, restocking shelves, and manual handling
• Manage store closing procedures and the reconciliation of end-of-day cash
• Provide coaching and training to local store staff to encourage routine and meaningful employment
• Support café or takeaway operations while maintaining strict food safety standards
• Participate in stocktakes, safety audits, and compliance checks to ensure long-term viability
• Commit to a 6-12 month development pathway to grow into a Store Management role

What you will need to bring

• You will be a resilient leader with a hands‑on approach and a deep respect for cultural diversity.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail or a similar fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency in using electronic retail systems for point of sale, stock control, and staff management
• High level of adaptability and the ability to thrive in remote or regional settings
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to cultural awareness
• Proven ability to manage a diverse team and drive positive community outcomes
