Haymes Paint in North Lakes, QLD is seeking a Store Manager to lead our store network. You will drive profitability, deliver exceptional customer service, merchandising excellence and strong team leadership in a 6-day-per-week trade-focused environment.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, inventory, and rostering, while building relationships with local trade customers and retail clients. You’ll coach staff, uphold safety, and foster continuous improvement and a positive store culture.

• Identify opportunities to expand the customer base through engagement with trades, contractors and business customers.
• Plan and execute marketing initiatives and coordinate with the Infield sales team.
• Roster and coach team members, provide feedback and develop staff.
• Maintain safety and adherence to safe work procedures; foster continuous improvement.

We are looking for a Store Manager to join our store network and lead our North Lakes team.

As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for driving the success of the store through profitability, exceptional customer service, merchandising excellence, and team leadership. A key focus of this role is building and maintaining strong relationships with both trade and retail customers, ensuring every customer receives expert advice, outstanding service, and a positive store experience. Experience working within a trade-focused retail environment, such as paints, hardware, building supplies or a similar industry, will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage store budget including variable expenses such as labour, sales vs budget, inventory and profit margins
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local trade customers, understanding their business needs and identifying opportunities to grow customer loyalty and sales.
• Ensure the store delivers an exceptional experience for both trade and retail customers through knowledgeable service, product expertise, and efficient operations.
• Identify opportunities to expand the store's customer base through engagement with local trades, contractors, and business customers.
• Plan and execute marketing initiatives as required
• Maintain effective communication and strategy development with the Infield sales team
• Focus on customer satisfaction through enablement of product and store experiences
• Recruit, onboard and coach new team members
• Roster and manage your team through regular feedback, motivation, coaching and development
• Provide a safe working environment and ensuring all staff adhere to safe working procedures
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning

About You

• Previous experience managing a retail or trade-focused business, ideally within the paint, hardware, building supplies, or a similar trade-related industry.
• Demonstrated experience working closely with both trade and retail customers, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a dynamic and experienced team
• Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships via strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Confidence and organisational skills to delegate tasks and roles effectively
• Demonstrated financial and strong business acumen such as understanding P&L reports, inventory management, rostering and controlling expenses
• Ability to lead, coach and develop a high-performing team while fostering a positive and engaging store culture.

This position works a rotating roster across our 6-day a week trade (Monday - Saturday).
