Job summary

Haymes Paint is seeking a Casual Sales Assistant to support multiple Sunshine Coast stores, including Noosa, Coolum and Currimundi. The role focuses on delivering knowledgeable product advice, processing in-store and phone orders, and contributing to store presentation and local deliveries.

You’ll bring excellent communication, a passion for customer experiences, and experience in retail or merchandising. Confidence with technology and strong numeracy help with tinting, totals and stock control.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, retail, inventory management or merchandising.
• Confidence using technology (POS systems advantageous).
• Excellent communication and relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Providing knowledgeable advice and product solutions to trade and retail customers.
• Handling all paint related enquiries, including tinting paint products and colour matching to customer requirements.
• Inventory control/stock replenishment (manual handling up to 15kg involved).
• Taking orders in-store and by phone.
• Building strong relationships with new and repeat customers.
• Assisting with visual displays and store presentation.
• Making local deliveries.

We are looking for a Casual Sales Assistant to join the team supporting multiple stores across the Sunshine Coast region (Noosa, Coolum & Currimundi).

This casual position works across a rotating roster in our 6-day a week trading store (Monday - Saturday). The successful candidate will need to be available for Monday, Fridays and Saturday as a minimum requirement (with additional hours available during AL and PL periods).

You will be responsible for:

• Providing knowledgeable advice and product solutions to trade and retail customers
• Handling all paint related enquiries, including tinting paint products and colour matching to customer requirements
• Inventory control/stock replenishment (manual handling up to 15kg involved)
• Taking orders in-store and by phone
• Building strong relationships with new and repeat customers
• Assisting with visual displays and store presentation
• Making local deliveries

What you will bring to the role:

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, inventory management or merchandising (desirable)
• Confidence using technology (Experience with Point of Sales systems advantageous)
• Sound numeracy skills and attention to detail, including the ability to accurately process transactions and comprehend tint percentages/ratios
• The ability to follow processes, take initiative and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, customer-focused approach.
• Trade experience is highly regarded

Requirements:

• Current valid driver's license
• Australian Working Rights
