Job summary

Haymes Paint is seeking a part-time team member for our Eltham store in Melbourne. You will provide knowledgeable advice to trade and retail customers, assist with tinting, colour matching, and inventory management, and support with in-store orders and deliveries.

The role offers a 6-day roster, opportunities to develop product knowledge, and a supportive team environment with staff discounts. Previous retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail is preferred.
• Ability to assist with inventory and stock replenishment.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable advice and product solutions to trade and retail customers
• Handle paint related enquiries, including tinting and colour matching to customer requirements
• Inventory control and stock replenishment (manual handling up to 22kg)
• Taking orders in-store and by phone
• Build strong relationships with new and repeat customers

We are on the lookout for our next PART-TIME Team member to join our Eltham store.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing knowledgeable advice and product solutions to trade and retail customers


• Handling all paint related enquiries, including tinting paint products and colour matching to customer requirements


• Inventory control/stock replenishment (manual handling up to 22kg involved)


• Taking orders in-store and by phone


• Building strong relationships with new and repeat customers


• Assisting with visual displays and store presentation


• Making local deliveries

What you will bring to the role:

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills


• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences


• Previous experience in customer service, retail, inventory management or merchandising (desirable)


• Confidence using technology (Experience with Point of Sales systems advantageous)


• Sound numeracy skills and attention to detail, including the ability to accurately process transactions and comprehend tint percentages/ratios


• The ability to follow processes, take initiative and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, customer-focused approach.


• Trade experience is highly regarded

Requirements:

• Current valid driver’s license


• Australian Working Rights

This position works a rotating roster across our 6-day a week trade (Monday - Saturday).
