Marist College Mortdale, a member of Sydney Catholic Schools, is seeking a Stage 5 & 6 Science Coordinator. This full‑time, permanent teaching role is a 2‑point promotional position, temporary for up to three years, based at the Mortdale Campus with a start date of 28 January 2027.

You will lead curriculum delivery, provide instructional leadership in Science, mentor teachers, and support high‑quality pedagogies aligned with NSW HSC and NESA requirements within the SCS framework.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Education with NESA accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Stage 5 and 6 Science teaching and learning across the campus.

About You

As the Stage 5 & 6 Science Coordinator (2-Point), you will provide strategic and instructional leadership, guide curriculum delivery and model exemplary practice. You will bring expertise in NESA and HSC requirements and your work will contribute to every student reaching their full potential through high quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy. This Full-Time role is scheduled to commence on Thursday, 28 January 2027 and is based at the Mortdale Campus. The position is a 2-point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years, however your teaching position will be full-time and permanent.

To excel in this role, you will be able to:

• demonstrate proficiency and proven experience in teaching Stage 5 and 6 Science subjects
• provide leadership and oversight of all Science teaching and learning, ensuring excellence in curriculum delivery and assessment
• create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students
• employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback
• create and utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress
• support and mentor teachers through professional development, feedback, and shared learning approaches
• display an eagerness for continuous professional growth and spiritual development
• support the College's educational advancements and endorse innovation as outlined in our Strategic Plan
• support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students
• contribute to the wider life of the school through Co-Curricular involvement, events, and professional learning initiatives
• provide evidence of a tertiary qualification in Education & NESA accreditation.
