Job summary

Marian Catholic College in Kenthurst, NSW, seeks a Science 2pt Coordinator to lead the Science Faculty and drive teaching and learning excellence from Term 1, 2027. This full-time leadership role offers 1 FTE (76 hours per fortnight) with allowances and the chance to mentor staff while aligning with NESA requirements.

You will develop curricula, monitor student achievement, promote innovative, ICT-enabled science education and build strong relationships with students, staff and families.

Qualifications

• Current qualifications and substantial experience teaching Science.
• Experience in curriculum leadership, faculty coordination or similar leadership.
• Strong pedagogical knowledge and a commitment to contemporary Science education.
• Ability to inspire, mentor and develop teachers to achieve their professional potential.
• Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of assessment, reporting and data-informed teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Science Faculty.
• Lead the development, implementation and review of Science curriculum and programs.
• Support teachers to develop high-quality teaching and learning practices.
• Lead faculty planning, assessment, reporting and resource development.
• Monitor student progress and achievement and implement strategies to support improved outcomes.
• Facilitate effective collaboration and professional learning within the Science Faculty.
• Ensure compliance with NESA requirements, College policies and relevant curriculum frameworks.
• Contribute actively to the broader educational leadership and strategic priorities of Marian Catholic College.
• Promote a culture of innovation, professional growth and excellence within the Faculty.
