Queensland Government is seeking a Staff Training Coordinator to design and deliver training programs for correctional staff, based on competency gaps identified through analysis. You will assess competency within the VQF framework and evaluate training effectiveness, while planning resources to support development across centres.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to liaison with centre management, and a commitment to meeting RTO standards and operational training needs

• Proven experience designing and delivering training programs within a corrections context.
• Experience in correctional centre operations and related duties.
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.
• Understanding of the Vocational Qualifications Framework (VQF) standards and requirements.
• Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and plan resources accordingly.

• Comprehensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of training programs including the ability to assess training needs based on sound analysis of competency gaps
• Applicants must have experience in and contemporary knowledge of correctional centre operations specifically related to the role of correctional officer
• Strong interpersonal skills particularly communication both written and verbal to a range of audiences in the context of delivering learning transfer within a training environment
• Experience in and ability to complete assessment of competency within an Vocational Qualifications Framework (VQF) and an understanding of the VQF standards and requirements
• Strong ability to undertake training evaluation to determine its effectiveness in supporting the development of staff competence and skills including planning and resourcing an overall training plan to meet operational training needs
• Very strong organisational skills that will ensure training needs are met within desired timeframes and ensure compliance with RTO standards
• Ability to liaise and negotiate with centre management on the delivery of training needs within the centre's overall staff resourcing/roster

Other conditions and requirements

• There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
• Formal industry qualifications specifically Certificate III/IV in Correctional Practice as well as TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable.
• Travel may be a requirement for this position
