Queensland Government in Ipswich City is seeking a skilled trainer to deliver and assess competency-based training for corrections staff. The role requires expertise in corrections operations, adult learning, and engaging adult learners through practical delivery and effective assessment.

The successful candidate will have current correctional practice certification and trainer assessor qualifications, with flexibility to travel or work outside normal hours if needed.

Formación

• Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice is required.
• Current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent skill set (Enterprise Trainer Assessor Skill Set may be required).
• Possession of these certificates or the ability to attain them within the role is essential.

Essential role requirements:

• Experience in the delivery of competency-based training and assessment.
• Experience in and a detailed understanding of the operations of the corrections industry particularly those related to the operations of a correctional centre.
• Knowledge and skills to deliver and assess staff in Entry Level Training and Correctional Practices competencies and assessments.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to apply those in the design and delivery of training.
• Conflict resolution and problem solving skills to deal with trainee custodial officers whilst conducting entry level training.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to think on your feet when facilitating.
• Confident facilitator with demonstrated capability to successfully engage a diverse audience of adult learners to help cement knowledge transfer and application.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work in a team environment.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills to ensure training programs and delivery of those programs is designed for the target audience.
Demonstrated skills in negotiating service delivery priorities, deadlines, and resources.

Other conditions and requirements:

• Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice
• Current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or skill set, or ability to attain such certificate (The successful applicant will to be required to successfully complete Enterprise Trainer Assessor Skill Set).
• There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
• Applications to remain current for 12 months.
