Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify and track off-site/modular projects and opportunities at early design and tender stages.
• Engage architects, engineers, consultants, developers, and specifiers to include Sika solutions in project specifications, Bills of Quantities, design details, and approved systems lists.
• Deliver technical presentations, Lunch & Learns, CPD sessions, product demonstrations, and system recommendations tailored to modular/volumetric construction.
• Support design detailing, joint design, substrate compatibility, performance validation, and compliance with building codes/standards.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline of specification-driven opportunities and ensure conversion into sales.
• Develop relationships with off-site manufacturers, modular builders, and key industrial customers.
• Introduce and implement Sika solutions for production-line applications (adhesives, bonding, waterproofing, roofing).
• Identify process constraints or efficiency opportunities in manufacturing and propose optimized solutions with Technical Service and System Engineering.

Specification & Business Development Specialist

Drive profitable growth of Sika's Off-Site / Modular Construction solutions by securing early-stage product and system specifications with designers, consultants, architects, and developers, while developing and converting business with modular manufacturers, fabricators, and key accounts. The role blends technical specification influence with commercial business development to increase market share, support industrialized construction processes, and deliver value through process optimization and performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

Identify and track off-site/modular projects and opportunities at early design and tender stages.

Engage architects, engineers, consultants, developers, and specifiers to include Sika solutions in project specifications, Bill of Quantities, design details, and approved systems lists.

Deliver technical presentations, Lunch & Learns, CPD sessions, product demonstrations, and system recommendations tailored to modular/volumetric, panelised, or hybrid construction.

Support design detailing, joint design, substrate compatibility, performance validation, and compliance with building codes/standards.

Build and manage a robust pipeline of specification-driven opportunities and ensure conversion into sales.

Develop strong relationships with off-site manufacturers, modular builders, bathroom pod producers, panel fabricators, and key industrial customers.

Introduce and implement Sika solutions for production-line applications (e.g., adhesives for wall/floor bonding, structural bonding of frames, joint sealing, waterproofing, roofing systems).

Identify process constraints or efficiency opportunities in manufacturing and propose optimized solutions in collaboration with Technical Service and System Engineering.

Drive new business acquisition, expand share of wallet with existing accounts, and support process optimization, automation readiness, and quality improvements.

Gather market intelligence on competitors, trends in MMC/off-site construction, regulatory changes, and customer needs.

About you

Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical/commercial field.

5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or specification selling within construction materials, building products, industrial adhesives/sealants, or related industries.

Experience or strong knowledge of off-site/modular construction, precast, volumetric modular, panelised systems, or modern methods of construction (MMC) preferred.

Proven track record in specification selling (working with architects/consultants to secure product inclusion) and converting specifications into business.

Technical understanding of adhesives, sealants, waterproofing, roofing, flooring, or related systems used in modular manufacturing and assembly.

Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Ability and willingness to travel.

Experience with CRM tools and pipeline management is an advantage.

Commercial acumen combined with technical credibility and a solutions-oriented approach.
