Job summary

Gallagher Bassett Australia is seeking an experienced claims leader to oversee the Specialty Claims team in Sydney, delivering cost-effective, professional and customer-focused service. The role offers permanent full-time employment with flexible work arrangements.

You will lead staff development, drive quality initiatives and ensure compliance with state legislation while maintaining strong relationships with clients and service providers in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 7 years insurance experience with 3 years management experience
• Strong technical expertise in General Liability, Historic Abuse and/or Professional Indemnity claims handling
• Ability to build and develop business relationships with clients and service providers
• Ability to comply with relevant state legislation
• Insurance policy interpretation skills
• Stakeholder management
• Negotiation skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Commitment to quality and accuracy
• ANZIIF Exec Cert or AQF Diploma desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead the Specialty Claims team delivering cost-effective, professional and customer-focused service
• Oversee day-to-day operations with leadership and technical mentoring
• Drive quality assurance activities, data integrity and process refinements
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and staff development
• Manage approvals outside team delegations for payments, letters, declinatures, mediations, etc.
