Job summary

Gallagher Bassett in Adelaide, Australia is seeking a Technical Manager to provide expert technical support to the SA Operations. You will act as a subject matter expert and coach internal teams within local legislation and business unit procedures.

You will guide claims teams to meet KPIs, support complex decision making, and ensure timely, compliant outcomes. The role emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical claims management experience.
• Knowledge of the Return to Work Act 2014 and associated case law.
• Experience coaching and supporting others.
• Previous experience as a technical specialist within all claim management segments.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, face-to-face or equivalent customer service and technical support to claims teams about the claims process in line with legislation and best practice.
• Provide subject matter expert knowledge for internal technical training sessions to ensure timely formal determinations.
• Assist claims teams in achieving KPIs and service guidelines.
• Guide, advise and assist stakeholders requiring specialist technical assistance.
• Provide claims strategy recommendations.
• Undertake adverse decision quality reviews and endorsements.
• Escalate claims for formal investigation as required.
• Work with internal stakeholders to produce return to work or review of entitlements.
• Ensure outcomes are communicated and actioned within timeframes.
• Review current claim management practices to identify emerging trends.
