Job summary

SEQUAL is expanding psychosocial and complex behaviour support services across the northside of Brisbane. We are seeking passionate Support Workers to join our teams, supporting clients with complex needs in SIL houses, community, and hospital settings.

The role involves managing escalations, implementing PBS plans, de-escalation techniques, and promoting client dignity and safety. The position is casual, with morning/afternoon/sleepover shifts across Monday–Sunday.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with complex behavioural issues, mental health conditions and/or trauma backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, families and team.
• Strong observational skills to recognise distress and escalation.
• Calm, patient and emotionally regulated in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to implement PBS plans and individualised support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Work with people who have complex behavioural issues, mental health conditions or trauma backgrounds, and support those with Intellectual Disability (e.g., Level 3 ASD).
• Provide support across SIL houses, community and/or hospital environments.
• Manage complex behaviour escalations and potential aggressive incidents.
• Implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist clients to adhere to Mental Health Forensic Orders where required.
