Job summary

SEQUAL is expanding psychosocial and complex behaviour support services across Brisbane’s northside. We’re seeking passionate Support Workers to join our teams.

You’ll work with people who have complex behavioural issues, mental health conditions, or trauma backgrounds, providing person-centred support in SIL houses, communities, or hospital settings. Key duties include managing escalations with PBS plans, de-escalation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with complex behavioural issues, mental health conditions, or trauma backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, families and team.
• Ability to recognise distress and respond with PBS and de-escalation strategies.
• Calm, patient and emotionally regulated in high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to accurate documentation and reporting changes to the team.
• Reliable, trustworthy team player with strong professional boundaries.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and QLD Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR.
• Valid Australian driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support people with complex behavioural needs across SIL houses and community settings.
• Manage escalations and potential aggressive incidents using PBS strategies.
• Provide person-centred support and de-escalation as required.
• Assist clients with adherence to Mental Health Forensic Orders in some cases.
• Document presentations, concerns and incidents clearly to the team.
