Job summary

Kennards Hire is seeking a Specialist Hire Controller to join our Brisbane branch. You will report to the Specialist Manager and work within the Distribution Centre team, providing expert advice on specialist equipment and delivering outstanding service to customers, in-branch or over the phone.

You will build strong product knowledge, manage hire schedules, contracts and branch administration, and contribute to a high standard of customer satisfaction while supporting the branch team with

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service role, and a genuine interest in helping others.
• Strong experience in sales administration.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work both in a team and independently to meet deadlines.
• Time management and planning abilities to adjust to priority changes.
• Interest in mechanics and construction equipment; eager to learn.
• Passion for delivering top-notch customer service.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team.
• Good understanding of safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, living up to our 'Every Customer a Raving Fan' value.
• Assist customers over the phone using script or in person at front desk.
• Create, update, and finalise hire schedules.
• Coordinate customer hire contracts and branch administration.
• Recommend complementary equipment or products to meet needs.
• Maintain strong product knowledge for tailored solutions.
• Process payments for hire schedules, including cycle billing and completion.
• Support the branch team by unloading, loading, delivering, servicing, and cleaning equipment.
• Open and close the branch and maintain showroom, yard and storage areas.
