Job summary

Sale & District Specialist School in Victoria is seeking a classroom teacher to deliver targeted learning programs for students with intellectual disability within a supportive, inclusive setting.

You will use the Victorian Curriculum, develop Individual Education Plans, and collaborate with families, teachers and allied health staff to promote communication, literacy, independence and wellbeing. A strong emphasis on data-informed practice and ongoing professional learning supports your growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning for high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with families and community.
• Experience reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.
• Interest in working with students with Special needs.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and school programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching duties as required.
• Engage in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings and school activities.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers and support staff.
