Job summary

Endeavour Hills Specialist School, part of the Department of Education Victoria, seeks experienced Classroom Teachers to join a rapidly expanding program. The role focuses on delivering personalised learning for students aged 5–18 with autism and language/intellectual needs, within a state-of-the-art specialist setting.

The successful candidates will contribute to a blended curriculum, engage in transdisciplinary teamwork with allied health staff, and apply inclusive practices across the school

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to employ the Victorian Curriculum and ABLES to develop ILPs and implement teaching strategies for students with significant intellectual disability/autism.
• Ability to manage the classroom, work collaboratively, accept and act on feedback, and engage in ongoing professional learning.
• Ability to collect and use data to monitor student growth and inform teaching approaches.
• Strong written and verbal communication and positive relationships with students, families, staff and the community.
• Evidence of diversity-inclusive practices and promoting student voice.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as directed by the Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties as needed.
