Job summary

Etheridge Ford in Ringwood, VIC is seeking a full-time Spare Parts Interpreter to join our automotive spare parts team. You will identify and locate spare parts, liaise with customers, technicians, and suppliers, and ensure accurate records and timely delivery.

You will use catalogs and VIN data to cross-reference components and provide expert part guidance. A customer-focused approach and strong attention to detail are essential, with experience in automotive parts highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of automotive parts, Ford systems and vehicle identification.
• Proficiency with parts identification systems and parts databases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers, technicians and suppliers.
• High attention to detail when recording part information and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and diagrams.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.

• Previous automotive spare parts experience is highly desirable; driver’s licence advantageous.

Etheridge Ford is seeking a full-time Spare Parts Interpreter to join our team in Ringwood, VIC. As a Spare Parts Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in our automotive spare parts operation, serving as a vital link between customers, technicians, and our inventory management systems. This position is essential to ensuring that the correct parts are identified, sourced, and delivered efficiently, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing

• Interpreting customer requests and technical specifications to accurately identify and locate the correct spare parts from our inventory system
• Liaising between customers, service technicians, and parts suppliers to ensure smooth communication and timely part delivery
• Consulting technical manuals, parts catalogues, and vehicle identification systems to cross-reference components and specifications
• Processing spare parts orders and maintaining accurate records of transactions and inventory movements
• Providing expert advice to customers and internal staff on part compatibility, specifications, and availability
• Managing enquiries regarding part numbers, specifications, and compatibility issues with professionalism and efficiency
• Assisting with inventory management and stock control procedures to ensure optimal part availability
• Contributing to a positive customer experience by delivering prompt and accurate service

What we’re looking for

• Proficiency in using parts identification systems, databases, and computer software relevant to automotive spare parts

• Previous experience in automotive spare parts, technical support, or a related automotive field is highly desirable
• A valid driver's licence and familiarity with Ford vehicle models are advantageous
