Poachers is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at our restaurant and weddings venue in the Canberra region. Working closely with our Head Chef, you will play an important role in day-to-day kitchen operations, including menu preparation and high-volume events.

This hands-on role offers a varied workload across restaurant, weddings and events, with lunch service only, five days per week and minimal evenings during wedding season.

Formación

• Has proven experience as a Sous Chef or ready to step up in career.
• Has strong food preparation and service skills.
• Is punctual, organised, reliable and calm under pressure.
• Understands food safety and kitchen compliance requirements.
• MUST have a car / own transport.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Preparing and delivering high-quality food
• Assisting with menu preparation, specials and wedding/event menus
• Harvesting produce from the Kitchen Garden ahead of service
• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards are maintained
• Ordering, stock control and minimising food waste
• Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
