Job summary

The Fresh Collective in Canberra is seeking a Head Chef to lead cafe and event operations with the support of management. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will oversee day-to-day kitchen activities and ensure smooth service.

You will develop a loyal team, drive high standards, and manage corporate catering for on-site pickup and client delivery. A Diploma in Cookery is preferred, with at least three years in a leadership role and a hands-on, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Cookery preferred.
• Minimum of three years in a leadership role, ideally from a hotel background.
• Hands-on in a busy environment, including events.
• Adhere to WHS standards and train staff accordingly.
• A keen eye for detail and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure smooth running of cafe and event operations.
• Produce a range of corporate catering picked up from the site and dropped to the client.
• Lead and develop the kitchen team through effective communication and inspirational leadership.
• Plan for future kitchen operations and maintain high quality and safety standards.
