Job summary

Crystalbrook Collection is opening Crystalbrook Sam in Adelaide and seeks an engaging Sommelier to shape an exceptional wine and dining experience from day one.

You will guide guests through a thoughtful wine list, champion SA producers, and collaborate with culinary team to deliver memorable pairings and service. This role requires passion, storytelling and hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience as sommelier or wine-focused role in premium hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international wines, especially SA.
• Wine qualifications such as WSET or CMS; preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging wine service and personalised recommendations.
• Lead guests through wine selections and pairings with menus.
• Promote South Australian wines and international producers.
• Collaborate with culinary team to design wine experiences.
• Develop, present and manage the wine program.
• Maintain wine inventory, cellar storage and stock rotation.
• Educate colleagues on wine knowledge and service standards.
• Build relationships with suppliers and winemakers.

The Opportunity

As our Sommelier, you will play an integral role in delivering a memorable food and beverage experience, sharing your knowledge and passion for wine while creating meaningful connections with our guests.

From showcasing exceptional South Australian producers to introducing guests to exciting international discoveries, you will bring our wine offering to life through thoughtful recommendations, engaging storytelling and intuitive service.

Working collaboratively with our culinary and food and beverage teams, you will help establish a distinctive wine culture that reflects the personality of Crystalbrook Sam and celebrates the incredible produce and winemaking heritage of South Australia.

What You Will Do

• Deliver engaging, personalised wine service that enhances every guest experience
• Guide guests through our wine selection, offering thoughtful recommendations and food and wine pairings
• Champion South Australian wines while showcasing an exciting selection of Australian and international producers
• Collaborate with our culinary team to create memorable food and wine experiences
• Support the development, presentation and ongoing management of our wine offering
• Maintain wine inventory, cellar organisation, stock rotation and appropriate storage standards
• Share your knowledge and enthusiasm with fellow collaborators, supporting wine education and service excellence
• Build relationships with suppliers, wineries and industry partners
• Bring creativity, curiosity and a genuine passion for hospitality to our opening team

What You Bring

You are a natural storyteller, a curious wine enthusiast and an authentic hospitality professional who understands that exceptional service is about far more than technical knowledge.

You Will Bring

• Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a wine-focused role within a premium restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international wines, with an appreciation for South Australia's celebrated wine regions
• A recognised wine qualification, such as WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers certification - regarded but not essential
• Confidence in wine recommendations, food pairing and premium beverage service
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to make wine approachable and engaging for every guest
• Experience with wine inventory, stock management and cellar operations
• A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for sharing knowledge
• Full availability across a 7-day roster to include evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Current South Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
