Job summary

seek.com.au is recruiting an Internal Sales Engineer in Melbourne to support customers and the Sales team from initial enquiry through to quotation and order handover. This permanent role blends technical problem solving with customer and supplier communication in a varied engineering and manufacturing environment.

You will review drawings, research applications, prepare proposals, and coordinate RFQs, working closely with Sales, Engineering and Operations.

Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude with ability to interpret drawings and specs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments is valued.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries and clarify requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications and data sheets.
• Research applications and propose suitable products.
• Coordinate input from engineering or suppliers.
• Communicate with customers by phone, email, meetings.
• Coordinate RFQs from enquiry to quotation.
• Prepare estimates using pricing tools.
• Liaise with suppliers on pricing and lead times.
• Maintain records in CRM/ERP systems.
• Provide technical input for product information and sales activities.
