SKY BLAZE PTY LTD, trading as Chai Parantha, is seeking an experienced Cook for a full-time, permanent position in Parramatta, NSW. The successful candidate will join a fast-paced kitchen, preparing and cooking menu items to high standards while maintaining food quality and compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• A relevant culinary qualification, such as a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant certification, is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a high-volume commercial kitchen.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Attention to detail and a genuine passion for food preparation and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook food items using appropriate cooking methods such as grilling, frying, baking and boiling
• Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes, portion control and presentation guidelines
• Monitor the quality of food at all stages of preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and high standards
• Assist with menu planning and the development of new dishes when required
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations at all times
• Store food correctly and maintain appropriate stock rotation procedures
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service
• Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff when required
• Carry out daily food preparation such as cutting, marinating and assembling ingredients prior to service
• Cook menu items during service periods in line with customer orders and business standards
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including grills, fryers, ovens and cooktops
• Coordinate cooking times to ensure meals are delivered promptly during peak trading hours
• Check food supplies and advise management of ordering requirements
• Ensure correct portioning to control costs and maintain consistency
• Identify and discard spoiled or substandard food items
• Follow cleaning schedules and end-of-shift kitchen shutdown procedures
