Job summary

BHP is seeking a Site Systems Specialist to support safe and efficient operations at Peak Downs Mine on a Monday to Friday roster. The role focuses on SHMS governance, document management, and training delivery to build team confidence with systems and technology.

Reporting to the Superintendent Site Systems, you will develop, maintain and govern SHMS requirements, provide technical support and facilitate risk assessments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Document Management Processes.
• Experience with Risk Management and governance of SHMS.
• Sound understanding of Queensland Coal Mining Safety Act and standards.
• Ability to balance business needs with practical solutions and problem-solving.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and attention to detail.
• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective engagement at all levels.
• Ability to analyse data and conduct audits.
• Public speaking and facilitation experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the site's SHMS.
• Provide technical support in Mine Record and Document Management systems.
• Facilitate Risk Assessments and support development of Site SHMS Documents.
• Assist Risk and Control Owners to align with Global Standards.
• Design, deliver and evaluate training programs using various instructional techniques and technologies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
