Job summary

BHP is seeking a Site Systems Specialist to support safe, efficient operations at Peak Downs Mine on a Monday–Friday roster. You will collaborate with teams to drive system literacy, governance of the Safety and Health Management System, and effective use of document management tools.

The role involves developing SHMS requirements, providing technical system support, risk assessments, and training delivery, while building strong internal and external relationships across the site.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Document Management Processes.
• Experience with Risk Management processes and governance of Safety Health Management Systems.
• Understanding of Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, Regulations and Recognised Standards.
• Ability to balance business needs with practical solutions and problem-solving.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office with high attention to detail.
• Well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage at all levels.
• Ability to analyse data and conduct audits.
• Confidence with public speaking and facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the site's Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
• Provide technical support in applicable systems including Mine Record and Document Management.
• Facilitate Risk Assessments and support development of Site SHMS Documents.
• Assist Risk and Control Owners to execute responsibilities in line with Global Standards.
• Design, deliver and evaluate training programs using various instructional techniques and technologies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
