Job summary

BHP in Western Australia is seeking a Site Systems Specialist to support safe, reliable and efficient operations at Peak Downs Mine. This fixed-term maternity leave position runs for approximately 12 to 13 months, on a Monday to Friday roster.

You will collaborate with diverse teams, champion system usage, and drive continuous improvement across Site SHMS, Mine Record and Document Management, and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Document Management Processes.
• Experience in carrying out Risk Management processes and governance of Safety Health Management Systems.
• Understanding of Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, Regulations and recognised Standards.
• Ability to balance business needs with practical solutions and problem-solving.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office with a high level of attention to detail.
• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage at all levels.
• Ability to analyse data and conduct audits of various types.
• Confidence with public speaking and facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the site's Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
• Provide technical support in applicable systems including Mine Record and Document Management.
• Facilitate Risk Assessments and provide support to develop Site SHMS Documents.
• Assist Risk and Control Owners to execute their responsibilities in alignment with Global Standards.
• Ability to design, deliver and evaluate various training programs using various instructional techniques and technologies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.

About The Role

BMA is seeking a Site Systems Specialist to play a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations at Peak Downs Mine. This is a fixed-term maternity leave position for approximately 12 to 13 months, working on a Monday to Friday roster.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with diverse teams, sharing knowledge, and helping others build confidence in using systems and technology. You will act as a trusted support partner, driving effective system use, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Superintendent Site Systems, your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop, maintain and govern requirements for the sites Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
• Provide technical support in applicable systems including Mine Record and Document Management
• Facilitate Risk Assessments and provide support to develop Site SHMS Documents
• Assist Risk and Control Owners to execute their responsibilities in alignment with Global Standards
• Ability to design, deliver and evaluate various training programs using various instructional techniques and technologies.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships

About You
