Job summary

Dematic is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician or Mechanical Fitter to service and maintain automated equipment across Queensland sites. The role offers a 5/4 roster with day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

You will travel to multiple customer sites in QLD, performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands‑on repairs with on‑the‑job training provided. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Australian Trade Qualification (essential): Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician OR Certificate III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter and Turner).
• Solid mechanical aptitude with maintenance experience.
• Strong communication with customers and internal teams.
• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors and automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment across multiple sites.
• Travel to various Queensland customer sites to develop skills.
• Work autonomously or in a small team to troubleshoot issues.
• Operate with a safety‑first mindset and document work in CMMS.

Ideal for a qualified Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician OR Mechanical Fitter with strong hands‑on skills and a knack for problem solving with great Mechanical aptitude

Work a 5/4 roster shift pattern (days and nights) which includes weekends and public holidays

Be able to work flexible rosters across various Qld customer sites – flexibility required

Overtime and additional shifts available if you are looking to boost your earnings

In this role, you will be based at Berrinba with capabilities of travelling to multiple sites to develop your skills and gain experience in working across multiple high-profile QLD customer sites

Tasks and Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For:

• Australian Trade Qualification (is essential): Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician OR Certificate III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter and Turner)


• Someone who has no issues in working either autonomously on their own or in a team environment, and can make sound decisions


• Solid mechanical aptitude with previous maintenance experience


• Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams


• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, automation, CMMS is a plus – but not essential (we'll train you)


• A technician who can think on their feet and be able to work independently or with a small team
