Job summary

Bryant Building Contractors is expanding its Northern Rivers presence and seeks an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day construction activities, supervise trades and coordinate with clients and suppliers. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure works meet program, quality and safety standards, review SWMS and permits, and mentor site personnel while maintaining strong site records.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the building and construction industry
• Experience supervising and coordinating commercial construction projects valued between $4 million and $20 million
• Experience with Design & Construct (D&C) projects is advantageous
• Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or equivalent
• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification

The Role

As part of Bryant’s planned expansion into the Northern Rivers region, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager to support our growth and future project delivery in the area.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of building and construction projects by leading, supervising and coordinating day-to-day site activities.

You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the construction program, quality requirements and project specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across project sites.

Supervise and provide direction to subcontractors, trades and site personnel.

Coordinate trades, subcontractors, materials and deliveries to maintain construction programs.

Monitor site progress and proactively address issues that may impact program, quality or project outcomes.

Work closely with the Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects.

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

Maintain a strong focus on HSEQ, ensuring site activities comply with legislative, project and Bryant requirements.

Conduct site inspections, pre-starts, toolbox talks and other required site activities.

Review SWMS, permits and site documentation and ensure appropriate controls are implemented.

Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works meet required quality and compliance standards.

Maintain accurate and timely site records, diaries and project documentation.

Provide leadership and mentoring to site personnel and promote a positive, professional and safety-focused site culture.

About You

Minimum five years' experience within the building and construction industry.

Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating commercial construction projects valued between $4 million and $20 million.

Experience delivering medium-rise multi-residential projects will be highly regarded.

Demonstrated experience across a diverse range of construction sectors, such as education, health, commercial and industrial, will be advantageous.

Demonstrated experience working on Design & Construct (D&C) projects.

Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or equivalent.

Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification.

Current Driver Licence and Construction White Card.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.

Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders.

Strong understanding of construction site safety, quality and compliance requirements.

Ability to manage site activities to program and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Ability to travel where required.

Builders Licence (Preferred).

Demonstrated skills in Procore or similar project management software desirable.

Intermediate skills in MS Project and the Microsoft Office suite.

Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety will be highly regarded.
