Job summary

EMMS is seeking a Site Engineer for a site-based role to support the delivery of major renewable energy projects. The position is full-time with travel to project sites across Queensland, Victoria and NSW, and a Melbourne head office for coordination between site assignments.

You will oversee daily construction activities, review technical submissions, monitor progress, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure HSE and quality compliance. Relocation to Melbourne and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• At least three years of on-site experience in renewable energy project construction and delivery.
• Proven ability to contribute to a project from construction through to completion.
• Experience with solar farms, substations and/or BESS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day site oversight of construction activities.
• Review methodologies, plans, drawings, specifications and submissions.
• Monitor progress against programme and help address delays and corrective actions.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and suppliers and resolve interfaces.

Job description

We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our team in a site-based role, supporting the delivery of major renewable energy projects.

Head office: Melbourne

Employment type: Full-time

Travel: Willingness to travel and relocate to project sites across Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales as required.

Candidates should ideally be based in Melbourne or be willing to relocate to Melbourne to work from our head office between site assignments. Flexibility to undertake extended site assignments and relocate for project delivery is essential.

About the role

You will support the day-to-day delivery and oversight of construction activities, working closely with EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and the wider project team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and coordinating solar farm, substation and BESS construction activities,providing day-to-day site oversight.
• Reviewing construction methodologies, plans, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Monitoring progress against the project programme and key milestones, identifying delays and supporting corrective actions.
• Coordinating contractors, consultants and suppliers, and resolving technical issues and construction interfaces.
• Reviewing and tracking requests for information (RFIs), non-conformance reports (NCRs) and associated actions.
• Monitoring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Supporting inspections, testing, commissioning and verification of completed works.
• Monitoring contractor performance and compliance with approved designs, specifications, standards and project requirements.
• Tracking site risks, issues and actions, and supporting cost, variation and commercial management where required.
• Maintaining accurate site records and preparing weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Providing regular updates to the relevant Manager and participating in site meetings and coordination workshops.
• Supporting project handover, completion and close-out activities.

About you

You will bring:

• At least three years of on-site experience in renewable energy project construction and delivery.
• A demonstrated track record of contributing to the delivery of at least one renewable energy project through construction to completion.
• Experience working in a site-based construction environment, with exposure to solar farms, substations and/or BESS.
• A strong understanding of construction practices, project execution, HSE and quality requirements.
• The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills.
• The ability to work effectively with contractors and multiple project stakeholders.
• A practical approach to problem-solving, strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work from our Melbourne head office and travel or relocate to project sites across Queensland, Victoria and NSW, as required.
