Job summary

Talesca Pty Ltd seeks a Site Electrical Engineer to support a renewable energy project near Dubbo, focusing on commissioning and handover. You will oversee electrical quality, coordinate with contractors and engineering teams, and ensure installations meet designs and project requirements.

Ideal candidates have site experience on utility-scale solar or BESS, strong QA/QC credentials, and a proactive approach to issue resolution and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Site experience on utility-scale solar, BESS, power generation or HV/substation projects.
• Strong electrical QA/QC experience, including inspections, testing documentation and defect management.
• Understanding of electrical construction and commissioning, including transformers, switchgear, cabling and protection systems.
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to challenge non-compliant work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical installations and monitor contractor compliance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Review ITPs, inspection records, test packs and NCRs, tracking defects through to close-out.
• Support and witness electrical testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
• Work with contractors and design teams to investigate and resolve electrical issues.
• Report progress, safety concerns and quality risks, and support as-built documentation and handover.

Job description

Our client operates across the Australian renewable energy sector, with projects spanning utility-scale solar and battery energy storage. They are seeking a Site Electrical Engineer to support a project near Dubbo through commissioning and handover.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee electrical quality and site activities, working closely with contractors and engineering teams to ensure installations meet approved designs, specifications and project requirements.

This is a practical site role suited to someone who can identify electrical issues, confidently address them with contractors and follow them through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical installations and monitor contractor compliance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Review ITPs, inspection records, test packs and NCRs, tracking defects through to close-out.

About You
