Job summary

TradeConnex is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer – Renewables for a large-scale solar/BESS project in regional NSW. This site-based role reports to the EPC/main contractor and covers oversight of civil and mechanical works across the project.

You will coordinate site activities, support subcontractors, review technical documentation, and ensure safety and quality compliance on a rostered, long-term assignment with accommodation and meals provided.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience as a Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer on major construction projects.
• Experience across civil and/or mechanical construction works.
• Renewables (solar, BESS) experience preferred.
• Experience working for an EPC/main contractor is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate civil and mechanical construction activities across site.
• Provide technical engineering support to site teams and subcontractors.
• Manage subcontractor performance, construction methodology and work fronts.
• Review drawings, specifications, ITPs and technical documentation.
• Coordinate RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
• Monitor progress against programme and assist with project planning.
• Conduct inspections to ensure works meet specifications and quality.
• Collaborate with HSE and quality teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery.
• Assist in resolving technical and construction issues.

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer on major construction projects.
• Strong experience across civil and/or mechanical construction works.
• Solar, BESS or broader renewable energy experience highly preferred.
• Experience working for an EPC/main contractor highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, engineering documentation and project delivery.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and working within large project teams.
• Comfortable working on a remote, rostered project.
