Overview

The Company
A well-established Australian renewable energy developer with a significant operating portfolio and a multi-gigawatt development pipeline is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join its Delivery team. The business develops, constructs, and manages utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects. Reporting to the Project Director, this role acts as the 2IC to the Project Manager on assigned projects, sitting across construction and commissioning activities and coordinating between contractors, the Owner's Engineer, and internal teams. Melbourne preferred, Sydney considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering deliverables and coordinate Owner's Engineer reviews, ensuring feedback aligns with project schedules and design sign-offs are obtained prior to construction.
• Review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for constructability and compliance with project specifications, grid connection requirements, and planning approval conditions.
• Lead or support resolution of technical issues during construction, managing interfaces across civil, electrical, mechanical, and grid workstreams.
• Support the Project Manager in planning and executing construction activities, monitoring progress against schedule, budget, and key milestones.
• Manage RFIs, NCRs, and design changes; coordinate change impacts across cost, schedule, risk, and compliance.
• Assist with contract administration, procurement support, and review of technical and cost aspects of variations.
• Ensure quality assurance processes are followed, including ITPs and contractor compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain accurate project records and support project close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
• 5 or more years in construction or project engineering roles, preferably on utility-scale renewable energy or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating engineering deliverables and managing multi-discipline interfaces.
• Familiarity with planning approvals, environmental compliance, and permitting processes.
• Demonstrated experience in change management and technical problem solving.
• Comfortable with regular domestic travel to site, including remote locations.
