Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of on-site construction leadership experience in utility-scale solar or BESS projects.
• Proven delivery of one large-scale solar project from start to completion.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Strong technical understanding of civil works, mechanical/electrical installation, HV substation construction, and grid-connection requirements.
• Experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Join the site team for an exciting large‑scale hybrid Solar PV and BESS project in Queensland. In this role, you’ll lead the construction team and work alongside experienced professionals to deliver a high‑quality renewable energy asset that plays a key part in Australia’s energy transition.

INTEC is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee the full‑site delivery of the project. You will manage all field construction activities, subcontractors, quality, safety, and programme delivery while ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory requirements, technical specifications, and client expectations. This is a hands‑on leadership role that demands strategic oversight, robust schedule and cost control, and the ability to manage complex, multi‑discipline works across civil, mechanical, electrical, and HV scopes.

You will act as the primary on‑site interface for clients, internal stakeholders, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth coordination, timely delivery, and a safe, high‑quality construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the construction execution plan, integrating civil, PV, BESS, mechanical, electrical, and HV scopes into a unified schedule.
• Lead daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant, and material deliveries for optimal productivity and safety.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, and change orders, ensuring delivery against key milestones.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure construction quality, compliance with design specifications, Australian Standards, and regulatory codes.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, and handover activities, ensuring grid‑connection readiness and operational compliance.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to site supervisors, subcontractor leads, and construction teams, fostering a strong safety and performance culture.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent trade qualification with extensive relevant experience.
• 8–10+ years of on‑site construction leadership experience, ideally within utility‑scale solar and/or BESS projects.
• Proven delivery of at least one large‑scale solar or hybrid PV + BESS project (50 MWac+) from mobilisation to mechanical completion/commissioning.
• Strong technical understanding of civil works, mechanical/electrical installation, HV substation construction, and grid‑connection requirements.
• Experienced in project planning, scheduling (P6/MS Project), budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
