Job summary

Field Mining Services Group is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead mechanical shutdown crews across Bowen Basin mines, coordinating activities and ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence. This hands-on leadership role requires coal mining experience and strong people development skills.

You will manage day-to-day activities with site management and project teams, driving productivity and fostering a safety-first culture among 15+ crew members on a 4D/4N/4off roster.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Current S123/G189 and G2 competencies.
• Coal mining experience the preferred background.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical shutdown crews across Bowen Basin mine sites.
• Lead maintenance shutdowns and project works on draglines, shovels and fixed plant assets.
• Monitor productivity, work quality and compliance with site and client requirements.
• Identify risks and support safe, on-time work delivery.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure procedures are followed.
