Job summary

Mader Group is seeking an experienced Shutdown Supervisor to lead major shutdown activities, coordinating trades and resources for safe, on-schedule delivery across Bowen Basin mine sites. Strong background with large hydraulic excavators and mobile plant is essential.

Based in Mackay, this role focuses on planning, coordination and execution of shutdowns, requiring leadership of trades and project teams to meet high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting or Mobile Plant
• Experience in Queensland coal mining, Bowen Basin
• Strong hands-on experience with large hydraulic excavators/diggers
• Proven experience supervising and coordinating major mining shutdowns

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee major shutdown activities across Bowen Basin mine sites
• Coordinate shutdown crews, supervisors, tradespeople, contractors and support personnel
• Develop and manage shutdown plans, schedules, resource requirements and execution strategies
• Oversee maintenance and component change-out activities on large hydraulic excavators
• Provide strong technical and operational leadership throughout shutdowns
• Monitor shutdown progress and proactively address issues that may impact safety, quality or schedule
• Coordinate labour, equipment, tooling and materials to support successful project delivery
• Work closely with clients and site management to ensure shutdown requirements are understood and achieved
• Identify project risks and implement appropriate controls and corrective actions
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Mader, client and site safety requirements
• Drive a strong safety culture and maintain high standards across the shutdown team
• Contribute to continuous improvement across shutdown planning and execution
